FAQs

Do you accept Insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance plans. However, clinical therapy from Out-of-Network providers such as Corazon Healing are considered out-of-pocket medical expenses and are usually reimbursed at a percentage via your medical insurance company if you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan. A superbill can be provided to assist with possible reimbursement for Out-of-Network benefits. Clients are fully responsible for seeking reimbursement from their insurer. Please review your insurance policy for details regarding your coverage, including any deductibles or co-payments.

Is energy medicine covered by insurance?

Currently, energy medicine is not billable by medical insurance companies and is not considered mental health treatment. Therefore, energy medicine does not get reimbursed by insurance plans. However, many hospitals in the US consider Reiki and Pranic Healing as integrative medicine. Energy medicine is often included as an alternative therapy in oncology and cardiology practices, as pain management, and in pre and post operative care. These forms of healing are also offered as part of staff wellness initiatives. Energy medicine can be experienced on its own to promote physical and emotional healing or can be used as a supplement to clinical mental health treatment. Multiple sessions are recommended for best outcomes. Energy medicine healing packages are available. See “Fees” section for more information on the monetary exchange for energy medicine treatments.

What if I don’t consider myself a spiritual person?

All of us are exposed to spiritual and religious beliefs as part of our upbringing and this may come up for exploration in a clinical therapy session in relation to how these concepts affect us in our present day lives. However, Corazon Healing believes that everyone has the right to choose their own spiritual path and our goal in clinical therapy is to provide a safe space to explore ideas and beliefs rather than provide a spiritual framework. If a client is curious about and seeking guidance in developing their spiritual practice, we would suggest booking an energy medicine session.

No Surprises Act Disclosure: YOUR RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS AGAINST SURPRISE MEDICAL BILLS

Corazon Healing is an out-of-network facility and does not offer emergency services. Nonetheless, all healthcare providers in the United States are legally obligated to post the following information on their website and in their physical office. Per the No Surprises Act Law effective 1/1/2022, every healthcare consumer now has the legal right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for non-emergency mental health care. This “Good Faith Estimate” is not an invoice and can be mutually amended to best fit the course of treatment. Because therapy is such a personal experience that is tailored and adapted as needed to each individual client and their needs, it is ethically impossible to predict the total cost of treatment. Still, a “Good Faith Estimate” will attempt to estimate costs and will be reviewed when discussing fees and payments with clients.
